Pyrolysis is a thermochemical decomposition of organic material by heating in absence of Oxygen, It involves the simultaneous change of chemical composition and physical phase. The pyrolysis system offered by AIL is a continuous system. The rubber scrap & Plastic scrap is heated in the rotary kiln indirectly, i.e. the Kiln shell is heated externally with Gas burners. The shell rotates at low RPM and the shredded Tyre are heated uniformly, the pyrolytic reaction of the scrap shredded Tyres results in decomposition forming Gases & Solid residue i.e. carbon black.
Gases/VOC’s generated during pyrolysis are passed through condenser, where the gases are cooled & the oil is collected. The con condensable gases are partially used as fuel to heating the Kiln. The balance gases shall be used for other heating purposes or to be Flared/burnt. The exhaust gases from the kiln shell combustion are vented through scrubber and stack to meet the PCB Standards/norms.
